Implement a Quality Management System (QMS) for Consulting Engineering Firms
Description:
|
This 2 day course is specifically designed for small and medium sized companies. It will equip delegates with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement and maintain their companys Quality Management System (QMS) or ISO 9001:2000 system.
Who should attend:
Chief Executives, Executives and Senior Personnel
Benefits of having a QMS in place:
A Quality Management System (QMS) or ISO 9001:2000 system implemented in your company is a prerequisite for membership of Consulting Engineers South Africa (CESA), irrespective of the size of the company and this course will help you to achieve this requirement.
Many large client bodies either require or recognize ISO 9001:2000 compliant firms in their procurement processes. As client companies become more aware of the potential benefits to themselves and the associated reduction of risks, demand for complainant companies will escalate.
CESA is also endeavouring to get the CIDB to recognize QMS implementation in the Consultants Register, not as a barrier to the client selection process, but rather as quantifiable recognition in the quality selection process.
Should a company have a QMS (approved by CESA), it would, depending on who its PI insurance broker is, be entitled to a 15% discount on the deductible payable in the event of a claim brought against it. The onus and responsibility would, however, fall on the member company to prove that the QMS had been adhered to.
Companies will effectively gain management control over all activities in the business.
With a QMS in place, a company will be in a position to better manage its risks.
Course Objectives:
Presenting the requirements of QMS/ISO 9001 in a Business Management framework. Providing practical examples in terms of all aspects of QMS implementation.
Learning Outcomes:
Delegates will learn how to implement and maintain a system of Quality Management in the organisation. Delegates will gain an understanding of how to implement procedures, falling within accepted standards and practices, ensuring best quality work and/or services.
