Background
CESA is a business support organisation representing highly specialised consulting enterprises that
are primarily in the business of offering independent technology based services in the built, human
and natural environment.
CESA’s objective is to enhance the quality of life for all South Africans through engineering excellence.
It strives to achieve this by offering its member firms:

As one of its key strategic objectives, CESA has decided to enhance its association with other external
commercial organisations operating in the built environment, with the aim of providing a value-added
networking service that will offer benefits to all its members. This forms part of the CESA’s drive to
increase its diversity and become a more inclusive organisation.
Existing Members
The traditional membership profile of CESA is corporate entities offering independent consulting
engineering services to clients. Membership presently comprises some 454 firms employing 3040
professionals with a total staff in excess of 18 500 with a collective annual fee income of some R14
billion per annum. This represents a pool of professional expertise ranging from engineers, architects,
quantity surveyors, planners and scientists to legal experts, financial professionals, social
development consultants and policy analysts.
CESA members offer a comprehensive range of planning, design, consulting and project management
services to meet the needs of their clients and they play a pivotal role in South Africa’s development.
Partners of CESA
This category of formalised partnership has been established to offer those organisations that are not
eligible for CESA membership, the opportunity of partnering with CESA, and gaining business
opportunities through such synergy.
The definition of this category is:
- Willingness to subscribe to the tenets of CESA
- Access to its prescribed benefits
Benefits
The benefits that will accrue to Partners of CESA are:
- Your logo prominently displayed on the CESA website homepage with a direct link to your
own website.
- Listing in the directory of firms with a 250 word product/corporate profile highlighting benefits
offered to our members.
- Preferential option to exclusive naming rights to events – based on sponsorship proposal e.g.
covering full costs or up to 80% of the conference costs. Unless the Partner sponsors the
entire event, CESA has the option/right to source additional sponsors who will also receive
exposure relevant to the value of their sponsorship.
- Option for speaker slots at CESA events, when sponsored by Partner.
- Recognition and exposure (either verbal or on printed material) at all of our events for being a
partner of CESA.
- Access to our database via CESA’s Marketing Department where you could advertise to our
members any new products or product launches, your conferences and seminars, etc.
- Banner on an e-mail newsletter to members, frequency subject to prior arrangement.
- Networking opportunities with member firms at monthly Branch meetings, Presidential visits
and events. There is also opportunity of having a display of your products at some of these
events i.e. where it is practical.
- Opportunity to present relevant workshops through CESA School of Consulting Engineering
- Opportunity to submit articles for quarterly newsletter to members, at the discretion of the
Editor. Advertising opportunities for newsletter also exist.
- Advertising on Life Long Learning Solutions (LLLS) DVD at half the marketed related price of
R5000,00 + VAT. This includes total sponsor of the DVD with an introduction at the beginning
and 4 one minute intermission advertising spaces throughout the DVD. Here you have
exposure to professionals in the industry who subscribe to the service and web-casting of this
DVD increases exposure to your brand.
- Access to our bi-annual Management Information Survey which indicates statistics on the
health of our industry.
- Periodic offers which may be unwavering and supplements the notion of equal partnership
Costs
The fee to become a Partner of CESA for 2009 is R100 000.00 for the annual subscription.
